Free snacks, trimester 2 2015

Alhamdulillah, Praises to the Greatest,
trimester 2 has ended. Congratulations to students who achieved flying colors and never give up to those who didn't do well. Work harder and always make du'a.

"Despair not the Mercy of Allah for Allah forgives all sins: for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most merciful." [Az zumar, 39:53]

During the last study week, right after the event of horse riding activity, VicMuslims Club held an activity to give free snacks for students. We gave the free cheese-cuit as a way to support the stress-free week and also to introduce our club to students. Each bite size cheese-cuit was attached with a verse of Quran.

Our committees - Preparation was made a few days earlier.
Distributing cheese-cuit.
More detail about the event is as follows:
Venue: The hub, Kelburn campus
Date: 22 October 2015
Time: 12.00pm

We received quite a number of positive feedback, such as
"You guys are so sweet."
"Keep up the good work!"
"VicMuslims club? Never heard of it before. But I am now. Thank you."

Thousands appreciation to our committees who commit for this successful activity. Thank you to those who never stop supporting us. Good luck for trimester 3. Till we meet again next time.

Isra Mikraj Talk 2017

After the Prophet performed the Evening Prayer  (^Ish a '), Jibr i l  came to him with a white animal, slightly larger than a donkey yet smaller than a mule. This animal was the  bur aq ,--one of the animals of Paradise.  Jibr i l  held the  bur aq  by his ear and told the Prophet to mount it. When the  bur aq  was mounted, the Prophet   set forth.  The  bur aq  is a very fast animal; the length of the  bur aq 's  stride is the farthest distance it's eye can see. The Prophet and  Jibr i l  arrived to a land with palm trees.  Jibr i l  told the Prophet to dismount and pray, so the Prophet dismounted the  bur aq  and prayed two  rak^as .  Jibr i l  asked him, "Do you know where you prayed?" and the Prophet answered, " All a h  knows best."  Jibr i l  told him, "This is  Yathrib ; this is  T aybah . Yassin and Tahlil Recital

Our deepest condolences to one of our club's members, Siti Nur 'Aqeelah for her father's death. This is in line with a sentence in Quran that says, "Every soul shall have a taste of death..." [Al-Imran, 3:185] Therefore, in collaboration with Wellington Malaysian Students' Organisation (WMSO) club, we held a Yasin and Tahlil recital for her father's death, Mr Mohamed. More details about the event is as follow: Venue: Student Islamic Centre (SIC), Kirk Building, Kelburn campus Date: 25 October 2015 Time: 7:45pm Recitation and Refreshment It was a potluck-based event. Right after yasin and tahlil recital, we had small refreshment that were brought by students and to be shared among muslimin and muslimat. Thus, we were able to foster bond among the students and able to get to know more about each other. We hope the student and her family will stay strong. May Allah put the spirit among the believers. Al-fatihah. ..............................
