Swimming session '16

Good evening,
Swimming activity was the first event after Meet and Greet ceremony. There was limited number of free tickets offered to VicMuslims Club members. Therefore, a post had been posted on Facebook to allow for members to leave their name and chase for the free spots (which did not include transportation).
Alhamdulillah. The response was great as there were so many people left their name in the comment. Therefore, the swimming session had been divided into 2 different groups which were based on gender with total of 18 participants: 10 females and 8 males. The swimming session was supposed to be conducted on 21st April, but due to certain circumstances from the venue administration, we postponed to 5th May.

Details of the event were as follows:
Venue:
1. Freyberg Pool and Fitness Centre (Male participants)
2. Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre (Female participants)

Alhamdulillah. We got a great feedback from participants with a suggestion to increase the number of free spots. Yes, we will work harder to increase club's fund and hopefully we can get everyone to join this event! InsyaAllah.

Stress Free Snacks

Our ancestors acknowledged the role of fresh fruits or nuts a part of their daily diet. De-stressing through drinks and snacks has become a part of our daily routine. The little and often food has changed our lifestyle which makes us feel more hungry. However, the old eating habits brought natural calm while we sustained more energy for the whole day than depending on the multivitamins as a remedy.  Different researchers have shown the adverse effect of stress can directly lead to unstable eating and can cause hormonal shifts and other disabilities in the body.  The purpose of this little giveaway initiative during the examination period is to make students somewhat realize that their stresses are dependent on their healthy eating habits and the food is always the best remedy which they require at the right time of the day. The old saying like healthy body has a healthy mind acknowledges the role of our body for sustaining pressures. So join us for this free event as the locati

Yassin and Tahlil Recital

Our deepest condolences to one of our club's members, Siti Nur 'Aqeelah for her father's death. This is in line with a sentence in Quran that says, "Every soul shall have a taste of death..." [Al-Imran, 3:185] Therefore, in collaboration with Wellington Malaysian Students' Organisation (WMSO) club, we held a Yasin and Tahlil recital for her father's death, Mr Mohamed. More details about the event is as follow: Venue: Student Islamic Centre (SIC), Kirk Building, Kelburn campus Date: 25 October 2015 Time: 7:45pm Recitation and Refreshment It was a potluck-based event. Right after yasin and tahlil recital, we had small refreshment that were brought by students and to be shared among muslimin and muslimat. Thus, we were able to foster bond among the students and able to get to know more about each other. We hope the student and her family will stay strong. May Allah put the spirit among the believers. Al-fatihah. ...........................
